How long have you worked for Sentient HR?

I’ve been working with Sentient HR for three months now. It’s been a rewarding experience, and I’m really enjoying getting to know the children and the team.

What is your favourite colour?

Pink has always been my favourite colour. It’s bright, cheerful, and has a way of lifting my mood whenever I see it.

What is your favourite snack?

Pizza with fruit juice is my go-to snack! I love the combination of savoury and sweet—it’s the perfect treat when I want something satisfying.

What is one of your hidden talents?

One of my hidden talents is counselling. I find that I’m good at listening and helping people work through their emotions, whether it’s with adults or children.

What inspires you?

The children inspire me every day. Their curiosity, creativity, and excitement for learning remind me why I love working in childcare. They always see the world with fresh eyes, which is really motivating.

What makes a ‘good day’ at a childcare centre?

A good day at a childcare centre is when all the children are happy—both inside and outside the classroom. When they’re smiling, playing, and excited to go home, I know we’ve had a successful day of learning and fun.

What’s the best/worst thing about being a childcare worker (RECE or Assistant)?

The best part of being a childcare worker is watching the children grow, both physically and mentally. Seeing them develop important skills and knowing that we’re helping shape their future is incredibly fulfilling. As for challenges, it can sometimes be hard to balance the needs of many children at once, but the rewards always outweigh the tough moments.

How do you remember all of the children’s names?

Spending time with the children for just a couple of days helps me remember their names. I focus on building a connection with each one, which makes it easy to remember who they are and what they like.

If you could take the children on a field trip to anywhere in the world, where would you take them?

If I could take the children anywhere, I’d take them to Washington, D.C. There’s so much history and culture to explore, and I think it would be an exciting and educational experience for them. Plus, it’s full of kid-friendly museums and landmarks!
