What inspires you?

Every day, I am inspired by the children I work with. Their boundless curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning continually remind me of my passion for childcare. They see the world with fresh eyes, which is incredibly motivating.

What makes a ‘good day’ at a childcare centre?

A good day at a childcare centre is filled with laughter and joy as children engage in playful learning and creative activities. Seeing their smiles and excitement makes all the effort worthwhile.

What’s the best/worst thing about being a childcare worker (RECE or Assistant)?

The best part about being a childcare worker is the opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s lives, helping them grow and learn. On the flip side, the worst aspect can be the emotional challenges, such as when a child is upset or facing difficulties. However, these moments also provide valuable opportunities for connection and support.

How do you remember all of the children’s names?

I take the time to engage with each child individually and use mnemonic techniques, which helps me associate their names with their unique personalities and characteristics.

If you could take the children on a field trip to anywhere in the world, where would you take them?

If I could take the children on a field trip anywhere in the world, I would choose to visit a wildlife sanctuary. It would be an incredible opportunity for them to learn about animals in their natural habitats while fostering a sense of wonder and appreciation for nature.
