How long have you worked for Sentient HR?
I have been with Sentient HR for 8 months, and it has been such a rewarding journey so far.

What is your favourite colour?
Black has always been my all-time favourite, but in spring I am drawn to soft pastel shades because they feel refreshing and full of life.

What is your favourite snack?
I can never resist mini pizzas from Domino’s. They are the perfect little comfort snack.

What is one of your hidden talents?
I love performing. I can sing well and I also enjoy Punjabi Bhangra and Giddha dancing.

What makes a ‘good day’ at a childcare centre?
A good day is when the routine flows smoothly, children feel respected and included, and I get to share in their stories, laughter, and play. I also feel fulfilled when I learn something new from them.

What inspires you?
My childhood teacher, who made a lasting positive impact on my life. She inspired me to pursue my passion for working with children and to give back to the community.

What’s the best thing about being a childcare worker (RECE or Assistant)?
The best part is the opportunity to shape young minds. Early childhood sets the foundation for lifelong learning, and making a positive impact at this stage is truly rewarding.
The challenge is that our work is often undervalued because many people think it is just babysitting. It is also difficult as an international student to invest so much in this career while the pay in the field does not always reflect that commitment.

How do you remember all of the children’s names?
I repeat their names often, connect with their hobbies, and notice unique features like hair or eye colour to help me remember. I also make it fun by using songs like the “choo choo train” song in the mornings, which helps me and the children.

If you could take the children on a field trip anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would love to take them to a botanical garden to explore the beauty of flowers and nature together. Disneyland would also be magical since it is every child’s dream.
