What makes a ‘good day’ at a childcare centre?
A good day is when the children are engaged, smiling, and learning in a safe, nurturing space that supports their curiosity.

What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the way children explore the world—seeing them learn, grow, and express themselves reminds me of the importance of early education.

What’s the best thing about being a childcare worker (RECE or Assistant)?
The connections we build with children are so meaningful. Watching their confidence grow and knowing you played a role in their development is incredibly rewarding.

How do you remember all of the children’s names?
I use each child’s name often and associate it with something unique about them—like a personality trait, favourite activity, or daily routine.

If you could take the children on a field trip to anywhere in the world, where would you take them?
I’d take them to New Zealand’s nature reserves—imagine the excitement of exploring wildlife and learning through hands-on outdoor adventures.
